Equipment Protection
Paying for your rental through Second Set Golf is secure, fast, and easy. Our payment processor is Stripe, which allows for multiple payment methods, transaction receipts and robust privacy & security parameters.
Second Set Golf's protection & claims process
Second Set Golf guarantees the full replacement or repair cost of your equipment regardless of the renters protection coverage option. Replacement and repair is valued at the market rate of the exact equipment in the condition it was in at initial exchange.
Claim initiation
If a renter damages equipment, they are instructed to document the damage thoroughly and upload images to the rental form. They will then return the equipment to you.
Your role
We ask that you also document the damage thoroughly and upload images onto the rental form. then, select the “Start a damage claim” button to initiate our review process.
Liability
Our team will review both the Pickup and return images to asses liability. We may reach out for additional information, images, serial numbers, etc to help with our investigation.
Resolution
If liability is determined to be on the part of the renter, Second Set Golf will provide you with a resolution of either repair or replacement and of what equipment. We will provide you with a ceiling amount we will pay based on fair market rates and have you send us a receipt for reimbursement.
Payment
Lenders have 30 days from the date we offer a resolution to submit a receipt. Second Set Golf will transfer the reimbursement amount into your Stripe account.
Lost Business
Second Set Golf does not cover lost income from cancelled bookings, or repair/item shipping time. Second Set Golf will provide a resolution option within 3 business days of your submitted damage claim & will pay $25 each day beyond day 3 that a resolution decision is not presented to you (See terms for full details).
While we take great care in ensuring damage or loss is rare, we understand that it can be frustrating and inconvenient when it does happen. If you are for any reason unsatisfied with the resolution, a representative will be available to discuss our decision and any other options available to you.
Reimbursement
Second Set Golf will determine the type and amount of reimbursement on a case-by-case basis.
The decision to repair or replace equipment will be made in accordance with generally accepted industry standards. If the equipment can be restored to its prior condition at a cost lower than full replacement, repair will typically be chosen. If repair is not reasonably feasible or cost-effective, replacement will be elected.
Rental form images from both exchanges will be the primary method of determining damage extent. Second Set Golf reserves the right to request any reasonable additional information to aid in our research. Any denial of these requests could jeopardize your resolution decision. In most cases, Second Set Golf will provide a maximum reimbursement amount (excluding taxes) and require you to submit a valid receipt for reimbursement within 30 days of being provided our resolution. In certain circumstances, Second Set Golf may offer the option to accept a flat dollar amount in full settlement of the claim.
Second Set Golf provides a limited Equipment Guarantee for qualifying loss or damage to lender equipment during confirmed bookings; however, this protection is not insurance and is subject to specific terms, conditions, exclusions, and coverage limits set forth in the Terms of Service. Coverage is capped at $4,000 per booking, based on fair market repair or replacement value, and is not automatic.
Eligibility for coverage requires accurate equipment listings, required pickup and return photo documentation, and timely reporting of any loss, damage, or non-return. Claims are reviewed and approved at Second Set Golf’s discretion. Renters remain fully responsible for loss or damage to equipment, and Second Set Golf may recover amounts from the renter or security deposit before issuing any reimbursement. This page does not modify or replace the Terms of Service, which govern in all cases.
