Founded out of necessity
We designed Second Set Golf as a response to our frustration with the lack of flexibility in traveling to play golf.
Golfers are frequently cited for the insane lengths we go to get in any amount of golf at a moments notice, and while that may be true, being prepared for… “golf emergencies” is just good habit; yes, I said “golf emergencies” and yes they are a very real threat.
Frequently traveling between cities, and as a card carrying golf fanatic, I grew tired of not having my clubs with me at all times for those…”golf emergencies”… At home, clubs practically lived in my trunk for just that type of occasion (I can hear the golf purists yelling at me for this I know).
While traveling one day, it happened again; a perfect day, a free afternoon… and no clubs. The course I wanted to play had rentals… but they were somewhere between bad and nonexistent. Desperate to play, I found a set being sold on Facebook marketplace pretty close to my preferred build. I messaged the guy asking if I could pay 50 bucks to borrow his clubs for just a few hours. He agreed. I gave him my watch as collateral. It was ridiculous… but it worked.
That experience made me realize that countless high-quality clubs sit unused in garages, basements, and storage units across pretty much every golf destination in America.
I knew there were dozens if not hundreds of sets just like the one I had in just that area alone, but I couldn’t just walk up to houses and ask to borrow clubs.
Except I just did.
Except begging on Facebook marketplace isn’t really a winning long-term strategy.
That day sparked Second Set Golf and throughout the next year, I built a platform designed to make golfing anywhere as simple as booking a tee time without compromising club selection. Second Set Golf fills a void I think many of us have experienced before, and adds the ultimate in flexibility and convenience, without compromise to your game.

Giving players easy access to premium clubs wherever they play, and empowering newcomers to offset costs through lending, we keep building the best community on earth!

Further, we aim to lower the barrier to entry for those under represented in the game by providing an opportunity to offset and reduce costs that might have otherwise kept them out of the game.
